It’s officially September and Fall is whispering is presence on the cooler breeze.  A couple weeks ago, I styled a fabulous photo shoot for Framework Magazine’s September issue (out today).  With so many amazing photos to choose from, and only a snippet being represented in the magazine, I couldn’t help but share more of what we worked so hard on.  I think  it is my favorite shoot I’ve styled to date.

For June, I am interviewing some women I find interesting to pick their brains on Summer fashion, travel, and some tips and tricks they have learned along the way.

This week I’ve interviewed Vancouver’s Wear Else clothing owner Zahra Mamdani.

What are 3 key pieces for a summer work wardrobe?
1.       A white blazer
2.       A flowy dress that is not too revealing
3.       A wider-leg pant
What are some guidelines for wearing shorts to the office?
This is tough unless you work in a very relaxed environment. If you do wear shorts, make sure they are not “short” shorts. Bermuda length is more appropriate for most workplaces. Also, don’t pair your short with a tee – that screams weekend. Pair tailored shorts with a blouse or shirt, belt and heels. Short suits are a hot trend for summer and fantastic if you can pull them off at your workplace!
What is your favorite Summer vacay destination and how do you pack for your trip?
I make a point of visiting Osoyoos each summer and that calls for lots of bathing suits, my favourite cutoffs, printed shorts, lots of tanks and maybe a maxi dress. This year I am also going to Saint Tropez, so I am planning on taking lots of wedge heels, fantastic bathing suit cover-ups, my most glam bathing suits, cute cocktail dresses and jewellery!
One of my favourite bathing suit cover-ups is a sheer tunic from Catherine Malandrino. Thrown over a bathing suit with wedges and big hoop earrings, the look is perfect for a lunch at Club 55. I also have my favorite coated black shorts from 7 For All Manind (they look like leather but function better in the heat) and a sequin white tank from Bailey 44. I’ll wear those pieces with my black Stuart Weitzman wedges for an edgier look.
What Summer trends do you think are most wearable for real women?
-floral dresses
-longer shorts
-distressed denim
-cold shoulder tops
What is on your Summer shopping list?
Another pair of printed pants or denim, a little leather tee, coloured flats and a dress with a cutout back. There’s one by Kelly Wearstler that I’ve been eyeing.
Heels or flats?  Tough because I love heels, but I think this summer is all about flats. I bought a great yellow pair  from Frye last week.
Shorts or dresses?
Dresses are always easier!
Product you always have in your bag?
Lipfusion lipgloss
Beach read recommend?
I am currently reading Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand and loving it. I also recommend The Paris Wife, which was my favourite read last summer.
Favorite hot weather treat?
Dairy Queen Oreo Blizzard. Even though I won’t order one for myself, I always take     too many bites from my kids!
