Working from home allows me to keep my beauty routine quite simple.  It would be easy to just splash my face with some water, throw on some sweats and call it a day at work, but I find I’m more productive if I have some kind of a getting ready routine in the morning.  Ok yes {confession}, it still involves sweat pants some days.

Number one is always keeping my skin looking fresh and hydrated.  I try {key word try} to keep a full glass of water at my desk at all times.  You’ve got to work from the inside out.  For my face I use Estee Lauder‘s Advanced Time Zone Hydrating Gel.  It’s for lines and wrinkles.  Never fun moving into the age defying stage of beauty care, but as long as it keeps me looking young {ish}, bring on the wrinkle cream.  I illuminate my skin with Biotherm‘s White D-Tox Liquid Light.  It gives me a fresh, rested look {desperately need help with this}.  I keep my makeup pretty simple if it’s just my assistant {aka…my Baby Girl} and I at the office .  I like a bit of mascara, some bronzing blush, and a pretty, neutral hued gloss like this one from Joe Fresh.  Lastly, a light pretty scent to finish things off.  The Victoria by Victoria’s Secret is a very soft scent.  Nothing too overwhelming or anything that my Baby will find offensive.

2013 was an amazing year for me both professionally and personally.  The year kicked off with me winning a one year lease on a super cute Mini along with a trip to Whistler. I also enjoyed some time on the beaches in Hawaii; spent the year doing styling for Framework magazine, including one feature I modeled in with my Style Common crew; I became a member of the Fashion Magazine Style Panel;  started a new business co-lab with the lovely Alicia Quan;  I had a styling feature in the The Province Newspaper; collaborated & organized numerous events; and even had lunch with a Victoria’s Secret Supermodel.  Needless to say, there was never a dull moment.

The biggest highlight of my year was spending the year pregnant and the birth of my beautiful Baby Girl, Madelyn.  Motherhood is a huge change and enormous blessing.  I am excited to start 2014 on such a positive note.  Here’s to another great year!

Yesterday I was honoured to be invited, along with my fellow Style Common Ladies, to the Victoria’s Secret Luncheon in Vancouver.  To celebrate the much anticipated grand opening of the second largest VS store, fashion insiders were treated to a beautiful lunch at Hawksworth Restaurant.  We were wined and dined all while our gracious host, VS Supermodel Lindsay Ellingson, mingled with us all, snapped pics, and got in on all the girl talk as we sipped coffee.  (Yes, I spent the afternoon talking about men, the art of Instagramming, and lingerie with a supermodel.  All in a days work.)  A big thank you to the Victoria’s Secret crew and to Brill Communications for a fabulous afternoon.

Upon arriving at the event we were all  Insta-happy trying to capture every precious detail.

A beautifully set table for Vancouver’s Fashion Insiders.

You can follow the chatter about this event and the grand opening at #VSLovesCanada .

My BCBG ring that I got recently on sale.   I was also happy to wear my BCBG dress again that I bought for The Deighton Cup.  This time I paired it with gold and black accessories and a black blazer.  It was perfect for the rainy day that it was.

Me with Victoria’s Secret Supermodel, Lindsay Ellingson…I am in flats, but yes, she is that tall.

I love this time of year.  The weather  is getting warmer and my Spring shopping is in full swing.  I already have made some great finds on goodies I can’t stop talking about!

1) Steve Madden snakeskin ballet flats  $70 (CAD Pricing):  Audrey Hepburn made the ballet flat popular in the 50′s and they are still relevant today!  As a busy gal on the go, I spend a lot of hours on my feet each day.  The ballet flat has become a staple in my wardrobe to make sure I’m comfy all day long.

2) H&M’s Organic cotton top in blush pink $29.95 (CAD Pricing):  This Spring’s colours are soft and feminine.  Hues to covet include ivory, blush pink, light peach, caramel, and nudes.  These colours are the perfect backdrop for another big look of the season, bold statement necklaces!

3) AG”s “Robyn” Denim jacket $264 (CAD pricing):  A great denim jacket should be a staple in every girls closet.  This Spring, try pairing it over a flirty floral print dress and this season’s hot shoe…the updated clog!

4) American Apparel basic cotton leggings $35 (CAD Pricing):  I really hope leggings never go out of style.  They are the perfect thing to travel in, run errands in, or pair with a dressy tunic and cute ballet flats for a comfy but chic dinner out look.

5) Claudia Accessories silver Scarf Necklace $300 (CAD Pricing):  Jewelry Designer Claudia of Claudia Accessories has created the perfect accessory.  She has designed a necklace that wears like a scarf.  You can loop it, tie it, and wrap it just like you would with your fave scarves.  It adds instant glamour to anything you wear!

6) Sage Essential Oil Candles $19.95 (CAD Pricing):  These candles are made with all natural ingredients.   Sage uses only 100% natural waxes, Essential Oils, and unbleached cotton wicks.

7) Brave Leather studded wrap cuff $78 (CAD Pricing)   This Montreal based designer makes the most amazing leather belts for both men and women.  (I have had a love affair with this line for last eight years or so.  My collection is continuously growing.)  He has included some amazing leather cuffs to the line.  For more info on his goods go to

8)  Burt’s Bee’s Apricot & Willowbark Deep Pore  Scrub $15 (CAD Pricing):  This scrub contains finely ground peach stone, Willowbark, Golden Seal extracts, Hawaiian Ginger, and sea algae.  What I really love is not only is my skin soft and smooth, but it’s a natural product too.

9) Bath & Bodyworks Lavender Vanilla room  and fabric sprays $7.50 each (US Pricing): My whole house smells fresh and yummy.  You can use it on linens, curtains, in the bathroom, pets beds, or anywhere you want a fresh scent in your home. This isn’t your Grandma’s lavender. The combination with vanilla makes the sent sweet and delicious.

10) Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels push up bra $48 (US Pricing):  My cleavage is a dream now thanks to this bra!  It has lifted my girls to new heights.  Even though it’s a nude coloured bra, I still feel sexy.
