In the summer months I pretty much live in dresses.  They are so simple, comfortable, and cool to wear.  I’ve been wanting a denim dress for a while now and was so excited when I found this one at H&M in their (very teeny) maternity section.  It’s still a bit big on me, but growing room is essential these days.  Plus, the roomier fit keeps it feeling cooler on our hot, sunny days.  It’s been perfect to wear working at home, for coffee (or tea) dates, and out running errands.  I love when I make smart purchases!

When it comes to maternity wear, I have found pants and denim the most difficult to find; that is until I took a trip to Mavi jeans.  Mavi offers up the option to have any of their jeans turned into maternity bottoms for only an additional $20 at time of purchase.  They offer a choice of three bands in varying widths and will match up a colour that suits your jeans best.  Mavi has their own in house seamstress to ensure consistent quality work.  I have been wearing my new jeans a ton. They are extremely comfortable and being that I could choose any pair, they are flattering too.

My panels also have an adjustable waistband so I can let it out as my bump grows.

Last Friday I headed to Vancouver home decor boutique, The Cross Decor & Design to check out what’s new for Spring.  This shopping paradise has everything from bedding and bath to sofas and scented candles.  They have everything you need or want to make your home beautiful.

While a group of Fashionistas and Decor Divas sipped tea and enjoyed some of Erin Ireland’s To Die For Banana Bread, The Cross co-owner and designer Stephanie Vogler shared a short presentation of her inspiration behind her current collection.  Like fashion, home decor changes with the seasons  and right on trend the store was full of corals and turquoises mixed with soft neutral tones.

I’ve always adored The Cross‘s European style and vintage influences.  Just walking through the store gives you home reno fever.  My husband and I are starting to do some home renovations and now I’m inspired to get our home beautiful.
