With us in full on baby prep mode, it seemed selfish to take a weekend to get away and play instead of work.  (Insert: Guilt)   However, with a friend’s 40th Birthday as the perfect excuse for us to get away, we headed down to Seattle last weekend to celebrate.  We had a great weekend of shopping (for us and the little peanut), yummy food, time with friends, and some much needed us time.  With my due date less than 3 months away, I suppose a little weekend getaway and some R&R  is just what the doctor ordered.

Usually this time of year I’m starting to gear up for Fall.  I adore Fall fashion.  Cozy knits, leather boots, and loads of layers.  This year with our current heat wave and my internal thermostat peaking  from my little peanut, Fall clothes have never been further from my mind.  I plan to stretch out my summer wardrobe as long as possible.  With approximately 40 days left in Summer, I’m gonna ride out my hot weather style.

I’ve been living in my current neighborhood for about three years.  I have realized recently that I haven’t fully explored it and there are so many little hidden gems I should be taking advantage of.  Over the weekend, my husband and I went to this pretty little park by the water only five minutes from our house.  I had no idea this place even existed.  Not only does it offer beautiful views, there is a pretty path for long walks.  With my little peanut coming in a few months, I’m sure we’ll be staying a bit closer to home.  This is the perfect time to discover more about where we live.  How well do you know your neighborhood?   Do you take advantage of all that it offers?

I’ve so been loving our actual summer weather we’ve been enjoying on the West Coast this year.  The last couple of summer’s have been cold and rainy, so it’s been a real treat.  As grateful as I am for all the sunshine and heat, I have been even more grateful for the amazing summer breeze my house has been getting.  A real gift for an expecting mommy.

Another gift came on Monday in the form of an amazing parcel from O’Neill.  As familiar as I am with the line, I was pleasantly surprised by this season’s variety of  pretty dresses and flowy seperates.  Easy dresses like this one are a staple for me during the warm weather months.  I can’t wait to share even more looks from O’Neill with you.  What is your go-to summer look?
