This look is definitely a departure from my usual denim look I rock on most days.  I forgot how nice it is to slip on a dress.  I used to wear dresses almost everyday when I was working outside of the home.  I loved that I always felt comfortable but polished.  A dress is one thing to put on.  It is a quick and easy way to get dressed.  There is definitely still a chill in the air and layers are required.  On the days that have been a bit warmer, I have been swapping out my cardis for kimonos.  I got this beautiful one a couple years ago from Farminista.com.  I obviously love that they are based out of my home province of Saskatchewan.  This silk dress was an amazing find at the Nicole Bridger warehouse sale last month.  Even though this shade of green is typically a more Fall colour, the floral kimono freshens it up with a Spring vibe.  I really do need to dress up more.  With that said, I’m going to go through on a pair of jeans now.

Things have been craaaaazy lately.  Good crazy, but crazy.  I’ve been pouring myself into party and event planning.  This past weekend was my Baby Girl’s 1st birthday.  The party was so much fun!   I also have a HUGE client event happening this week, so with that comes the anxious excitement that I love.  Needless to say, this Lady is tired.  When I’m tired, all I want to do is wrap myself up in something delicious.  Lately that delicious has been my new J.Vansuch Studio scarf.  It’s luxe, cozy, and goes with everything.

All the designs of these scarves are limited edition prints.  Julie Vansuch’s textiles are made in Brooklyn, New York and Como, Italy and are all natural fibers such as silk, wool, and cashmere.  These are a definite must to add to your Christmas wish list.  Each scarf comes packaged in a beautiful signature gift box so they are easy to give…or receive.

This time of year is always a bit strange fashion wise.  It’s WAY too hot to be layering on cozy sweaters, and somehow, it doesn’t look quite right to be running around in Summer dresses either.   Lately I’ve been gravitating towards anything lightweight and my favorite neutral colours.  {Thank you fashion for making the minimalist look a trend right now.}   It seems like the perfect way to transition into Fall.   I find the key is even though I’m wearing basics, I still keep it interesting with texture and a couple of accessories.  Jersey is my mommy-go-to fabric of choice.  These pants by Nicole Bridger have been a fave of mine from the early stage of my pregnancy {before the bump}, all throughout my pregnancy, and now again post pregnancy.  There’s something to be said about comfort and style.

Stay tuned for some fun new Fall Fashion posts coming soon!

It seems so strange to be talking about the end of Summer.  We Vancouverites have had an amazing season.  Loads of sunshine and warm weather have been a real treat compared to summer’s past.  With kids going back to school next week and the stores full of beautiful Fall fashion, I’ve been trying to enjoy my last days with my Summer wardrobe.

As I’ve said in previous posts, this year, I’ve been having a harder time wrapping my brain around dressing for Fall as I am perpetually hot.  I seriously was sweating  just looking at Instagrams of girls in knit sweaters yesterday.  Twenty three degrees is too warm for full Fall gear.    However, after perusing the pages of my Fall issues, Ive been starting to plan out how I’m going to style myself to be season appropriate, but still stay cool.   After all, Fall is my favorite season.  When do you make the switch to your Fall wardrobe?

Lately our up and down weather has proven to make getting dressed in the morning a bit challenging.  Layers seem to be the key along with a large bag loaded with essentials (umbrella, a pair of flats, makeup for touch ups, etc)  Yesterday I had to pull out my trench coat again.  It’s just too chilly to pretend I’m warm enough in my outfit.  There is sunshine in our near future.  I can’t wait to retire my coats once and for all.
