I really love my leather jacket.  I’ve had this classic black leather Michael Kors jacket for a few years now.  I wear it almost year round, with the exception of our short hot weather season.   Whether it’s with colour, jeans, over a dress, or my paired with my go-to uniform, it just works.  I also clearly really love scarves.  I have quite a few in my collection and clearly an outfit of mine isn’t complete without one!

Do you have any favourite staples in your closet?

I have written before that one of the simplest ways to get ready quickly in the morning and feel fabulous when you leave the house is to create a uniform.  By uniform I mean a go to look you know you feel good in that you can style different ways to wear for many different occasions.

A version of this look would be my go to outfit when I’m in a pinch or don’t really want to think too much about what to wear.  As a Momma, I don’t have a lot of time to get ready but still want to look cute while being comfortable.  My winter uniform entails… a shorter cotton/lycra skirt, an oversized top, blouse, or sweater, heavy tights, ankle boots, scarf, and a couple well appointed accessories.  This version of my go to look is perfect for lunches with friends, shopping with my Little Miss, or family brunch and weekend outings.

Stay tuned for two more looks of my uniform that I’ll be sharing over the next couple weeks.

It’s always challenging to shed my daily wardrobe of pj’s and cozies after the holidays and get back to actual clothes.  I refuse to be uncomfortable so I’ve been gravitating to my collection of knit dresses in my closet.  This one you’ve seen before and is an absolute favorite.  I wear this dress for everything from lunch and coffee dates, to running errands, to dinner parties.  I must do another Nicole Bridger shop soon!

Things have been craaaaazy lately.  Good crazy, but crazy.  I’ve been pouring myself into party and event planning.  This past weekend was my Baby Girl’s 1st birthday.  The party was so much fun!   I also have a HUGE client event happening this week, so with that comes the anxious excitement that I love.  Needless to say, this Lady is tired.  When I’m tired, all I want to do is wrap myself up in something delicious.  Lately that delicious has been my new J.Vansuch Studio scarf.  It’s luxe, cozy, and goes with everything.

All the designs of these scarves are limited edition prints.  Julie Vansuch’s textiles are made in Brooklyn, New York and Como, Italy and are all natural fibers such as silk, wool, and cashmere.  These are a definite must to add to your Christmas wish list.  Each scarf comes packaged in a beautiful signature gift box so they are easy to give…or receive.

Not me…this weather!  It is hard to believe that it is just past mid-September and we are still in the middle of a heat wave.  It was 30 degrees at my house a couple days ago.  Wowzas!  While I do love this prolonged sunshine, I could use just a bit of a cool down.  Not to be a brat, but I’ve got Fall shopping to do and this extreme heat is delaying me playing with cozy layers.

Continuing with the transitioning part of this time of year, I’m opting for snug skirts with bare legs, flowy easy blouses, and, my fave, ankle boots.  On a hot day I have to pull my hair back, so a high pony seemed like the perfect {and easy} choice.  I’ve also completely fallen in love with statement earrings.  These beauties from Olive & Piper totally made my look a bit more oh la la.
