2013 was an amazing year for me both professionally and personally.  The year kicked off with me winning a one year lease on a super cute Mini along with a trip to Whistler. I also enjoyed some time on the beaches in Hawaii; spent the year doing styling for Framework magazine, including one feature I modeled in with my Style Common crew; I became a member of the Fashion Magazine Style Panel;  started a new business co-lab with the lovely Alicia Quan;  I had a styling feature in the The Province Newspaper; collaborated & organized numerous events; and even had lunch with a Victoria’s Secret Supermodel.  Needless to say, there was never a dull moment.

The biggest highlight of my year was spending the year pregnant and the birth of my beautiful Baby Girl, Madelyn.  Motherhood is a huge change and enormous blessing.  I am excited to start 2014 on such a positive note.  Here’s to another great year!

Last night I attended a shopping and trend talk event at Topshop.  The Western Editor, Joy Pecknold,  for Fashion Magazine was on hand to show us some amazing music festival inspired looks.  After we got to shop the store to find treasures of our own.  I was immediately drawn to all the super cute dresses they have in.  (And one may have found it’s way home with me.)  Here are five dresses that caught my eye.

Hawaiian Boat Print Sundress $66

Block Print Sleeveless Bodycon dress $52

Embroidered Hem Flippy Dress $84

Neon Animal Tunic Dress $70

Zig Zag Aztec Tunic $48

When I think of The Great Gatsby, I think of lace, pearls, jewels, and exotic head wraps.  It’s a film where luxury and opulence are bountiful.  To take a style cue from this flick, based in the Roaring 20′s, I opted for a flattering white lace dress.  To keep that 20′s feel without getting too flapper costume like, I went with a modern ombre print scarf that I knotted and tied up turban style.  I also went with a 20′s inspired t-strap shoe but in a modern nubuck leather.  Accessories like this tassel pearl necklace, large gold cuff, and sequin clutch complete the look by adding some luxe.

I had a lovely week.  Productive but with some fun thrown in.  Here are some of my insta-smiles from the week.

I love Spring in Vancouver.  There are cherry blossoms everywhere.

Attended my first Army & Navy shoe sale.  Found some cute casual shoes.

I discovered a Menchies opened up near my house.  In love!  Been there twice this week already.

This week’s Fashion Magazine’s Style Panel challenge.  How to style a monochromatic look.  I went with one of my fave hues…mint.

Fresh, pretty blooms in my home always bring a smile to my face.  Just makes everything feel so fresh!

Happy Friday!  xoxo
