With us in full on baby prep mode, it seemed selfish to take a weekend to get away and play instead of work.  (Insert: Guilt)   However, with a friend’s 40th Birthday as the perfect excuse for us to get away, we headed down to Seattle last weekend to celebrate.  We had a great weekend of shopping (for us and the little peanut), yummy food, time with friends, and some much needed us time.  With my due date less than 3 months away, I suppose a little weekend getaway and some R&R  is just what the doctor ordered.

I don’t own a ton of bags.  (My husband would argue that point.)  I make sure that bags I purchase can be worn with several different outfits and have a fairly classic styling.  My leather cross-body bag by Erin Templeton has become a fast favorite.  I bought it after using it in a photoshoot I was styling.  I just couldn’t give it up.  It’s been my go-to bag this Spring/Summer season and because of the natural colour, it will transition into Fall nicely.

Usually this time of year I’m starting to gear up for Fall.  I adore Fall fashion.  Cozy knits, leather boots, and loads of layers.  This year with our current heat wave and my internal thermostat peaking  from my little peanut, Fall clothes have never been further from my mind.  I plan to stretch out my summer wardrobe as long as possible.  With approximately 40 days left in Summer, I’m gonna ride out my hot weather style.

I’ve been living in my current neighborhood for about three years.  I have realized recently that I haven’t fully explored it and there are so many little hidden gems I should be taking advantage of.  Over the weekend, my husband and I went to this pretty little park by the water only five minutes from our house.  I had no idea this place even existed.  Not only does it offer beautiful views, there is a pretty path for long walks.  With my little peanut coming in a few months, I’m sure we’ll be staying a bit closer to home.  This is the perfect time to discover more about where we live.  How well do you know your neighborhood?   Do you take advantage of all that it offers?

There is something about warm, sunny weather that makes me want to dress myself in turquoise head to toe.  I’ve been editing my closet and pulling out items I no longer seem to be wearing as well as falling in love with some old favorites again.  I have had this little turquoise dress for many years and it never seems to go out of style.  I love when I spend a bit of money and purchase well.  I always get my money’s worth.

I am completely in love with my new ring by Taara Jewelry.  The gold, black, and white combo is perfect for almost any outfit.  The style of it is a bit 1920′s art deco…very Gatsby”esque”.  It’s become a fast new favorite.
