I have been busy testing out some new beauty product and want to share some of my favourite Summer products.  The best part is that they are all drugstore brands so  they are affordable too!  Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these products the next time you are browsing the beauty department.

1) Makeup Revolution Blush Palette: This is a new brand to Canada!  Originally from London, they believe that quality products can still be affordable.  This palette has a more bronzy/metalicy look to it.  Perfect for sun kissed skin.

2) Jergens Hydrating Coconut Moisturizer: This big bottle of coconut deliciousness is sitting on my bathroom counter.  It makes my skin feel amazing and smells divine.

3) Nyx Ombre Blush: This fashion inspired blush adds a radiant flush of colour to my cheeks. It goes on silky and blends beautifully.

4) E.L.F. Mineral Infused Face Primer:  I don’t like to cover my face with loads of makeup in the Summer months.  I have actually replaced my foundation with this awesome face primer.  It makes my skin look smooth and soft.  It evens out my skin tone and is the perfect base for my bronzing blushes.

5) Jergens Natural Glow self tanner:  I have been using Jergens for years and years for my gradual self tanning needs.  Their newest formula contains black tea to help enhance your colour without streaks and that weird sunless tanner smell.

6) Ogx Weightless Oil + Lifting Tonic:  It’s easy for your summer locks to look dry and limp.  This gravity defying tonic can be applied to either wet or dry hair and will boost and hydrate your hair.  This fresh formula with moisturize, volumize, and breathe life into your hair.  This one you’ll want to throw into your beach bag for a quick hair refresh.

Look for all these products at the London Drugs beauty department.

Now, in my mid-thirties {gasp}, I am working hard to take care of myself and keep things as youthful looking as possible.  I have lotions and potions galore for my skin.  Eye cream, night cream, stretch mark oils, under eye serums; I’m basically covered from the hairline down, but what about my hair?  I’ve always taken my hair for granted.  It’s thick, it’s full,it’s healthy, it’s shiny…isn’t it?

To ensure my hair will continue to be healthy and lustrous, I’ve been using Live Clean’s new Professional Age Resist line.  It includes a pre-shampoo treatment, shampoo, conditioner, and a multi 10 in 1 leave in treatment.  I’ve been loving the results.  My hair feels great and has a healthy shine.  Definitely a Prairie Girl recommend.

My house is a Live Clean home.  My whole family {minus the cat} all use Live Clean.  It’s 98% plant derived, paraben free, pure vegan, and eco-friendly.  What’s not to love?

Working from home allows me to keep my beauty routine quite simple.  It would be easy to just splash my face with some water, throw on some sweats and call it a day at work, but I find I’m more productive if I have some kind of a getting ready routine in the morning.  Ok yes {confession}, it still involves sweat pants some days.

Number one is always keeping my skin looking fresh and hydrated.  I try {key word try} to keep a full glass of water at my desk at all times.  You’ve got to work from the inside out.  For my face I use Estee Lauder‘s Advanced Time Zone Hydrating Gel.  It’s for lines and wrinkles.  Never fun moving into the age defying stage of beauty care, but as long as it keeps me looking young {ish}, bring on the wrinkle cream.  I illuminate my skin with Biotherm‘s White D-Tox Liquid Light.  It gives me a fresh, rested look {desperately need help with this}.  I keep my makeup pretty simple if it’s just my assistant {aka…my Baby Girl} and I at the office .  I like a bit of mascara, some bronzing blush, and a pretty, neutral hued gloss like this one from Joe Fresh.  Lastly, a light pretty scent to finish things off.  The Victoria by Victoria’s Secret is a very soft scent.  Nothing too overwhelming or anything that my Baby will find offensive.
