When it comes to my Summer wardrobe, I try to add a bit of colour and life to my warm weather style.  There are certain pieces in my closet that make my wardrobe a bit more fabulous.  Here are 5 of my musts to get me through our upcoming sun-shiny season.

1.  Silk Kimono top by Winter Kate

2. Silk printed maxi dress by BCBG.

3. Mint flowy hi-low skirt by Wilfred.

4. Floral print dress by Prabal  Gurung for Target

5. Sheer white blouse by Staple.

 Happy Friday! xoxo

There is so much to adore about this upcoming Spring season.  Modern florals, bright hues, bold mod looks, playful stripes, and the freedom for all of us to interpret these looks however works best for us.  I am a firm believer in being aware of the trends, but not being a slave to them.  Always take your shape, age, and lifestyle into account when shopping.

With Spring just around the corner, I’ve been playing with my wardrobe to see just what I have, what I don’t, and cleaning out my closet along the way.   A few new purchases have been made, like this colour block dress by BCBG.  I bought this dress while we were in Maui.  The perfect souvenir if you ask me.  This Brighton scarf was a Christmas prezzie from my Grandma.  It’s a beautiful silk and you have to love that “fashion blogs” is written right on there.  My Grandmother chose well.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a BCBG outlet only minutes from my home.  Of coarse I went in the second I laid eyes on it to see what goodies were in store.  Originally my plan was to do a little pre-scout for my sister’s bridesmaid dress (which I did), but it quickly turned into shopping for me!

It was love at first site when I spotted this fern print maxi dress.  With orange being my favorite color and then mixed with purple???  Oh I’m in!

I love the ease of this dress and it’s versatility.  I bought it and wore it for my engagement party and plan on wearing it to a wedding in Whistler this Summer.  I quickly realized that with the right pieces to layer with it, I can quickly turn it from garden party to a more casual laid back look.  I’m thinking this will be a must pack for a tropical honeymoon;-)
