The Summer issue of Stimuli Magazine is out!   I am so excited to tell you that I will now be a regular fashion contributor for them.  For Summer I am talking wedding style.  This is how I have elevated the typically casual boho look to wear to a Summer wedding.  Here are a few more snaps of the look I put together.  Be sure to check out my full article and the whole  issue here.

Hello June!  This Thursday I am headed to San Fransisco!  I am so excited to get away with two of my oldest and dearest friend for a fun extended girls weekend.  {I am obviously also a wee bit sad to be away from Maddie for more  than one night for the first time.}  When it comes to my travel style, comfort is at the top of my list.  Easy jersey dresses like this cute anchor one from Barefoot Contessa are soooo comfortable.  I also like to layer a pair of bike shorts underneath my dresses.  It allows for a bit more movement + it prevents the hot weather thigh chafe, for those us who don’t have thigh gap.  Accessories can play double duty if selected properly.  This pretty print scarf adds some personality to my look and can be wrapped around me for some added warmth on the chilly flight.

T I P : My carry on usually consists of a large tote like this one.  Perfect for magazines, an IPad and any other goodies you’d like to have with you during the flight.  I also pack a cross body bag and clutch in my carry on and fill them with my wallet, passport, lip balm, etc.  This keeps a couple less things out of my suitcase and gives my big tote compartments to help me find things in there more easily.

Back to comfort…these shoes are amazing!  I have some brutal feet.  I need some good support if I plan on doing some all day walking (which I obviously will be in SF).  These cute sandals actually have built in orthaheel technology.  Instead of my usual flat as a pancake sandals, I will be bringing these contoured, supportive sandals to make sure my feet are as comfortable as possible while touring around.

I get way to excited when I’m packing and want to bring everything.  I’m narrowing down my choices and  I’ve been busy pinning for packing inspiration too keep my suitcase contents at a minimum.  Have any favourite packing tips?

Kimono & Sunnies: c/o Barefoot Contessa Boutique
Skirt & Top: The Urban Rack (old)
Necklace: Zuka Artful Accessories
Bag: c/o Old Navy
Shoes: Army & Navy

Working in a creative industry means no traditional work wear for this gal.  Stretchy pencil skirts, jersey tops, kimonos, and comfortable heels are appropriate and practical for client appointments, coffee meet ups, and lunch meetings.  This giant tote is perfect to throw my camera, planner, daily essentials, and a pair of flats in.  I love an easy boho feel for the warmer months, so why not for work days too?  To complete the look I add a few well appointed accessories like this necklace by local label Zuka Artful Accessories and a pair of over sized sunnies.

I feel so grateful to get to work along side my fabulous partner in crime, Alicia of Alicia Fashionista.  We have a uniquely wonderful professional relationship + a friendship I cherish.  I love that I get to be a full time mom + blog + work with inspiring local business owners who challenge me to be better and I continue to learn from.  Oh, and did I mention I get to play with pretty clothes?  Thank you to the super fab staff at Barefoot Contessa for helping me pick out some sweet new Spring pieces like this pretty kimono.

Motherhood.  One of the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever done in my life.  As a work from home Mom, I am constantly trying to find that perfect balance.  As I’m writing this, Madelyn is sitting on my feet flipping through her books.  I do feel very privileged to be able to work on things I’m passionate all while being a stay at home mom.  As a blogger I often feel like I’m in this weird no-mans land (or no-womans land).  I’m a style blogger who’s a mom and while writing about fashion has been my main gig, I can’t help but be influenced by my bright little light running around the house.  I hope to have more posts soon that travel into the Mom realm.  After all, being authentic is so important to me so flexing my mom muscles only makes sense.

Having said all that, enter Maddie in today’s style post!  Needless to say, my body has changed and morphed a lot from pregnancy.  As a result of that and a pretty major lifestyle change, my personal style has evolved too.  One item I’ve coveted in my wardrobe before, during, and after pregnancy are my Flatter Me Belts.  These amazing belts are stretchy, adjustable, and lay nice and flat.  When I was newly sporting the bump, this belt kept my pants up when my button could no longer be done up.  When I wanted to cinch in a dress but still be comfortable my FMB was perfect!  And now, while I’m loosing weight (ya, it takes a while for some of us), I rock this belt to keep up my pants until I can make it out to purchase a size down.   I have been wearing FMB for over 4 years now.  I first met the designer, Claire,  when I was an accessory buyer at The Urban Rack in Vancouver.  They are the most comfortable belts and have been a staple in my wardrobe ever since.  Mother’s Day came early for my Mom as she will be traveling next month.  You bet that one of her gifts was a belt in new hue Good Greycioius!   Flatter Me Belts currently has a promo on.  From now until May 3rd get 2 belts for $60 and your shipping is free!  Just use my shopping code PGMOMSDAY .

Lastly, how adorable are these matching Mommy & Me SaltWater Sandals?  I had to get us each a pair when I was in Barefoot Contessa last time in.  They carry the wee ones sandals at the Commercial Drive location only.  I love matching her…even though I use to swear I would never go there.  Oh how things change!

Romper: c/o Barefoot Contessa
Shoes: Miz Mooz c/o Shoes on Fourth
Clutch: Value Village
Bracelet: Stella & Dot

I think rompers are adorable!  One problem, I’ve never been able to find one that suits me and fits.  Most rompers are geared towards a smaller, younger, tighter figure than mine.  Not cutting myself down, just a fact.  I was pumped when I found this sexy yet age and lifestyle appropriate romper at Barefoot Contessa.  It fits me perfectly and shows off what I’m comfortable showing off and flatters the rest.  It’s still way too cold to break it out here in Vancouver, but I will be packing it for my trip to San Fransisco in June.  A girl’s gotta plan ahead!
