I am really loving all the blue this season. There are so many shades to choose from so I’ve been wearing blue with, well, more blue. In this month’s issue of Framework Magazine , myself and the rest of The Style Common crew are modeling some very pretty date looks. I loved my outfit so much I bought it! (Granted, I was the stylist for this shoot too, so it was inevitable that this would happen.) Be sure to get caught up on this month’s issue. The March Issue will be out soon.

We ladies of The Style Common paired up with Joe Fresh to show you not only how one top can be styled on many different body types but also how sequins can be worn any day…not just NYE.
It can sound horrible to compare your body shape to a piece of fruit, however pear shape is the best way to describe my figure. Over the years I’ve learned to highlight the positives and camouflage the less desirable areas of my body. I’ve been blessed with a small waist, so belts are added to many of my looks. This black leather belt is a pretty contrast against the rose gold sequins. With a fuller hip, bum, and thigh I tend to wear darker colours on the bottom and often layer with a jacket or cardi to help balance out my proportions. A killer pair of heels help elongate my shorter legs and gives the illusion of length. I liked the low neckline on this top. My collar bones are a feature I like to show off so I just added a simple layered necklace to help fill in the space and add some interest. Sparkle with sparkle is completely appropriate for a date night out…especially on New Years Eve. This sequin stunner clutch adds another element of glam without being over the top.

I adore getting dressed during the holidays. I’m either in cozy knits and loads of layers or dressed to impress. Fabrics like lace, tulle, and velvet paired with sequins and beading make any girl feel like they’re channeling their inner Holly Go-Lightly. Our Deck Your Closet event was my first holiday soiree of the season. I was wearing a Mystree velvet dress from The Urban Rack, tulle cardi from Today boutique, Belt by Brave Leather, and necklace from Forever 21. It wasn’t planned, but I love how well coordinated we ladies are in this picture. Black, ivory, and gold are clearly our picks for the holiday season. We had tons of things to see and do at our event. Here’s a look at the goings on…
