Heidi Merrick at Oliver and Lilly's

Last week I had the pleasure of  meeting L.A. based fashion designer Heidi Merrick at local Vancouver boutique Oliver and Lilly’s.  Heidi launched her line of RTW in 2007 and now sells in shops across the US, Canada, and Japan.   In 2011 she introduced a Home Collection under her label.

I loved when I heard that Heidi makes a practice of manufacturing responsibly and locally.   Her design studio is in downtown Los Angeles where everything is produced within walking distance of the studio.  Love that!

Heidi’s S/S ’12 Collection was full of vibrant colour and colour blocking.  She used touches of black to help anchor the colour and give these feminine looks a little edge.

How much do you love this leather and burlap strapless dress?  So cute!

On top of getting to drool all over her current season collection, we were also given a sneak peek of her upcoming F/W ’12 Collection.
